Part of the Renaissance walls of Ibiza were built with blocks of stone cut from the quarries here and transported to the city by sea.<\/p>\n<p>This work left cuts in the coastline which, in some areas, fill with water forming salt-water swimming pools. Given that they resemble the ruins of an ancient city, the hippies who set up home in a nearby cave renamed the place as &#8220;Atlantis&#8221; although its real name is <i>Pedrera de Cala d&#8217;Hort<\/i>. To get there by land you have to descend the cliff with sand dunes and so you need to be physically fit and in good shape to do so.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_gallery type=&#8221;flexslider_slide&#8221;
