Cala Bassa

The first and largest beach in the Portmany Bay, it has dazzling white sand and crystalline waters. There are no buildings except for three chiringuitos or beach bars along the shore, all owned by the same person. The beach takes its name from the reservoir (bassa in Ibizan language) by the shore which connects with the sea. It is surrounded by a forest of pines, junipers and tamarinds. In addition to the restaurants, other services provided include a car park, hammock and lounger hire and a ferry to the port of Sant Antoni.
