Cala Salada marks the beginning of the es Amunts Nature Reserve, which extends through the northern end of the island up to the coast of Sant Carles. It is also the last stretch of sand in the municipality and has two beaches. The bigger one extends to include a large collection of huts on its southern side carved from the red ochre rock. There are loungers, sunshades and a restaurant serving seafood.
The other beach, Cala Saladeta to the north, provides one of Sant Antoni’s most iconic and idyllic images thanks to the colour and contrast of its waters which are an electric turquoise blue and its white sand, alternating with sandbanks. There are also fishermen’s huts here.
Access to Cala Salada by car is restricted to the car park, so many bathers use public transport or reach the cove by boat. Both beaches are divided by the striking building Casa Rosada, constructed in the mid-20th century.
