Port de Sant Miquel

Western coast

This is one of the most important bays in northern Ibiza which was traditionally a natural fishing port. Today it is one of the main tourist resorts of the Sant Joan municipality along with Portinatx and sa Cala de Sant Vicent. The resort has a number of hotels with steps leading down to the sea from the clifftop. There are also restaurants serving traditional cooking, chiringuito beach bars, shops…

The tourist area is set back from the main beach although there are a further two small coves: Caló des Moltons, which can be reached on foot along a path that leads off the west side of the main beach, and es Pas de s’Illa, at the foot of the fortress tower of Balansat. This latter beach comprises a strip of land created to join the privately owned islet of sa Ferradura to the Ibizan coast. It is only accessible from the road leading to the residential complex of na Xamena, set on the cliffs that crown the bay.
