The tourist area that surrounds the Portmany Bay begins in Port des Torrent. There are hotels, restaurants, shops and innumerable services. This deep and sheltered beach, as its name indicates, is set at the outlet of a stream. It is often referred to as a harbour due to the number of boathouses at the far end of sa Pedrera, which although distanced from the shore, are still visible.
At this end there is also a former sandstone quarry, creating a strikingly vacant landscape with its seawater inlet. The beach is sandy with a number of chiringuitos or beach bars. As in the case of other nearby beaches, it has a regular line of ferry links to the port of Sant Antoni.
